Today marks the start of a new series that I have been pretty excited about for awhile. As some of you may already know (particularly if you follow me on twitter) I live at away at University for the majority of the year and my house mate Sophie has also recently started blogging. Soph and I think we're hilarious (we're also humble) particularly when we're sitting down drinking a cup of tea and musing over goings on in the world. Therefore we decided -about a month ago- to start a collab together where once a month we write a post together about any topic and give our thoughts and opinions about it. We will be alternating the hosting between our two blogs, this month is my turn to host it so without any more rambling welcome to the first #TeaTalkWithSophAndEm.
Today quite appropriately we are going to be talking about our Top Teas.
What is your favourite type of Tea?
- Em - Anything herbal, I love fruity or floral teas as I absolutely HATE normal tea.
- Soph - I'm obsessed with green teas or anything with chamomile in, black or rooibos tea just aren't for me either.
What is your favourite Green Tea?
- Em - Taylors Strawberry and Vanilla Green Tea, this is by far the best Green Tea ever. It's really fruity, sweet and the Green Tea is very soft and isn't repulsive and bitter like normal Green Tea.
- Soph - Pukka Serene Jasmine green tea, without a doubt. It's so floral with notes of jasmine, chamomile and lavender. I love this tea because it's a complete sensual experience, it smells amazing and is super relaxing. Perfect for when you want a little boost mid-afternoon but there's not too much caffeine so it's still ideal for unwinding.
Mug or Cup?
- Em - Although I like drinking out of a Cup as it makes me feel sophisticated, I am a Mug girl at heart. Nothing better than sitting down with a huge Mug of tea and snuggling up to watch a film.
- Soph - If I'm using a teapot (fancy, I know) then a cup, but any other time, definitely a mug. I like to drink a lot of tea so I like my drinking vessel to hold a decent amount, I actually went to Asda recently with the sole intention of buying huge mugs because my current ones just weren't big enough.
To Milk or not to Milk?
- Em - Grim, no milk thanks. Not only am I lactose intolerant but I don't really drink the type of tea that needs milk in it. The only one I do drink that you can add milk to is my M&S Chocolate Tea but I prefer that without Coconut milk.
- Soph - No milk. Never milk in tea. I'm lactose intolerant too and I've just become so accustomed to green or herbal tea that the only time I have milk is in coffee and that's usually chocolate soy milk.
If you could only drink one tea for the rest of your life, what would it be?
- Em - Tough one. I suppose it would have to be something like a Twining's Camomile and Spiced Apple as its really drinkable and really relaxing. It's not too sweet but it does help to curb the sugar cravings and I find it really soothing at night so it's a good all rounder for me.
- Soph - Mine's a chamomile tea too. Pukka Chamomile, Manuka Honey and Vanilla to be precise. It's my all-time favourite tea, subtly sweet, floral and perfect for relaxing in the evenings as well as a little pick-me-up.
That's all for today's Tea Talk! I hope you enjoyed it!! Be sure to go and follow Sophie and keep an eye out for our post next month over on her blog! If you have any topics you want us to cover then please leave your suggestions in the comments below and we will make it happen!
