Christmas Gift Ideas For Him!

I think buying for men is a nightmare. Sometimes you just have no idea what to get them and the typical - pants, ties & socks combo can only be done a few times before the tedium sets in.
Below are a few ideas that I think would make amazing presents for the men in your life this Christmas.

  • Something that I think makes a great present that is often overshadowed are 'coffee table' books. Waterstone's at the moment are selling loads of these with titles including "1001 TV Series you must watch before you die" (shown above), "1001 Movies you must see before you die", "1001 Beers you must try before you die" and so on. I think these make great gifts for anyone, but they are particularly useful if you're looking for a fun gift for a man as you can pretty much tailor it to his interest whether its watching films or playing guitar, they have a book that covers it. You can pick these up HERE for only £10!
  • If you have a male to buy for that's abit geeky or a little bit alternative then fear not because sites like IWOOT (I Want One Of Those) is here to help! The amazing Star Wars Mug is from IWOOT and I know my brother will love this gift. (I'm really hoping he's not going to bother reading this blog post to be honest!). I have also purchased gems from there this Christmas such as a motherboard chopping board, D-ick mug (it's hilarious!) and a jar of crudely named "hand shit" which is actually lemon and bergamot hand cream. This site was a lifesaver this year for Christmas and if you're struggling to find unique gifts I thoroughly recommend it. Sadly at the time of writing they don't seem to have the same stock as they did when I ordered but there are still loads of great gifts so I do suggest to have a browse - Link
  • DVDs or Blu-Rays - these are permanently on my brothers Christmas wish list and I generally think DVDs and Blu-Rays make great gifts for both men and women. I recommend "Spy" if you're planning on buying a new release this year. It has comedy, action and more comedy. Melissa McCarthy is hilarious and my boyfriend and I were both doubled over laughing at Jason Stathams ridiculous character. I really recommend this film!
  • THE BEARD. This is definitely a 2015 thing that now every man seems to be coveting a beard. Whether you love them or hate them it seems like they are here to stay so perhaps indulge your loved one by buying them a male grooming set - you can get great ones that range between £10-£30 and can include: beard shampoo, beard comb, beard balm and even moustache wax from HERE or if you're a beard hater then send your loved one a hint with a nifty grooming station like this one here from Look Fantastic for £42.99.
  • Aftershave - this is a winner every time. Who doesn't like to smell good?! Some amazing ones on the market at the moment are Dior - Sauvage, Jimmy Choo - Man, Chanel - Bleu De Chanel and Viktor  & Rolf - Spicebomb. I think all of these smell incredible personally and I defy anyone to not like at least one of those four scents!
  • Lastly of course if you're really struggling then go down the socks, tie and pants route but perhaps add a little luxury to them and buy them from M&S or Debenhams. Perhaps put down the comic Bah Humbug pants that you think are hilarious and instead choose a classy tie from M&S? Or some fancy pants from Debenhams!
  • My number 1 rule with buying Christmas gifts for my loved ones is to try and stay away from the cliché gifts that are only really suitable for Christmas time - that also includes staying as far away as possible from those LYNX sets as I know my brother hated receiving them throughout his adolescence and would much preferred a chocolate selection box or something he could actually enjoy. The key is to think about the person and not the price tags. You don't need to spend a fortune to buy the perfect gift. It's the thoughtfulness that counts!

As before here are some shop suggestions :
  • Feel Unique & Debenhams - both have brilliant fragrance offers at the moment
  • IWOOT (I Want One Of Those)
  • Not On The High Street - Great if you're pro beard!
  • Book Depository
  • Waterstones
  • Look Fantastic - Great for Grooming Kits if you want that beard to disappear!

I hope this post has been helpful! Men are difficult to buy for so hopefully this has given you a few ideas!

Let me know some of your ideas in the comments below!
