REVIEW | Elemis: Pro-Collagen Perfection Gift Set.

In December,  I was given the opportunity to review one of the Elemis gift sets that were released for Christmas. As you may know (if you are a regular reader) I am a skincare obsessive and my go-to brand of skincare is without doubt Elemis, so when I was emailed with this opportunity it was impossible to say no!!

This gift set is called the Pro-Collagen Perfection Gift Set** and is mainly aimed at anti-ageing, which means that all the products in here are going to be nourishing to your skin. As you can see above it is packaged beautifully in a silver box with a purple lining and contains 6 products. This is a perfect gift
for someone who travels as it is an entire skincare routine in a hard wearing compact box that is easy to slip into your suitcase or travel bag!

Limited Edition - Pro-Collagen Marine Cream 30ml
It claims to reduce the appearance of wrinkle depth by up to 78% whilst increasing skin hydration and moisture levels by up to 45%.
Ingredients to note are Wheat Germ Oil, Shea butter, Jojoba Oil, Padina Pavonica, Carrot Seed Extract, Damask Rose and Ginkgo Biloba. However this product does contain parabens and silicones.
I think - This product is by far Elemis' most famous and is the go to anti-ageing product for many women. The cream is smooth and glides effortlessly onto the skin and absorbs quickly, whilst the scent is delicately floral but by no means offensive (and I hate floral scents as a general rule!). Obviously at the age of 19, I can't comment on its anti-wrinkle claims, however I do love the hydration this gives to my skin and it suits my tricky combination skin like a dream. Besides, they do say anti-ageing is the prevention not the cure!
Side note the beautiful jar is in honour of the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream's 10th anniversary and the lid is supposed to depict the key ingredients in the cream.

You can buy - £79 for 50ml

Pro-Collagen Oxygenating Night Cream 15ml
It claims that the peak detoxing times for the body are between 12am and 12pm, so the skins regeneration process is at its optimum during the hours of sleep. Therefore this night cream is designed to replenish oxygen lost during the day as a direct result of damaging environmental aggressors.
Ingredients to note are Laminaria Digitata (Oarweed - a type of seaweed), Red Coral, Hexapeptide (Amino Acid), Padina Pavonica, Sesame - Wheat Germ and Avocado Oils. This also much like the marine cream contains parabens and silicones.
I think this is another nice product, after using this for almost a month, I can say that my skin feels nice but I can't claim that it is 100% down to this product. As I don't have any wrinkles I can't comment on that aspect of the product however I can say it applies beautifully with its gel-like formula and does last a long while with my jar looking barely touched even after being used every night for 4 (ish) weeks. This has the same floral scent as the marine cream and is again not offensive.

You can buy - £95 for 50ml

Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm 20g
It claims to soften and smooth, nourish and effectively remove makeup
Ingredients to note are starflower, elderberry and optimega oils with rose, mimosa waxes and padina pavonica. No mineral oils, Parabens or SLS.
I think - I'm a little disappointed with this, I hate to say it as I love Elemis, but this is one of those products that just hasn't caught my fancy. I don't particularly like the smell as it's such a strong strange scent that is abit headache inducing if I'm being honest. It is an effective cleanser, although you do need to thoroughly wipe this off with the flannel provided, time is needed. Its good, it works, I just don't love it.

You can buy - £39.50 for 105g

Pro-Radiance Cream Cleanser 30ml
It claims to deeply moisturise to reveal youthful complexion, purify, cleanse and balance the skin.
Ingredients to note are Sweet Brazilian Orange, Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Patchouli, Moringa Seed Peptide, Great Burdock, Noni and Assai Fruit.
I think that this is pretty good as a cream cleanser, it is very similar to the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish (review coming soon!) in consistency and efficacy. This works well but just like the cleansing balm, make sure you get every last bit of this off or else your skin is not going to be glowing like you want. Again my only downside to this is that its time consuming, and as a lazy uni student that barely gets enough sleep my evening routine needs to fit in with my energy levels (which quite frankly are beyond low!). Although I would like to comment that don't go expecting a wonderful scent from this product like the ingredient list may infer as you will be surely disappointed. This has little smell at all which is a good and a bad point depending on your own personal preference.

You can buy - £29 for 150ml

Rehydrating Ginseng Toner 50ml
It claims to effectively tone the skin, rebalance pH level and preserves natural oils.
Ingredients to note are Korean Ginseng, Glycerine, Sweet Betty Flower, De-ionized Water, Xanthum Gum. This product does contain Parabens.
I think that this is the saving grace of the entire box for me, after needing a new toner I was happy to find this! It smells fresh but not overpowering and leaves your skin feeling refreshed and squeaky clean. It is in no way drying to my skin (which is always a good thing!) but it does the job its supposed to.  I don't have anything negative to say about this.

You can buy- £21 for 200ml

Papaya Enzyme Peel 15ml
This is the final product in the box but I shan't go into a detailed review as I have already reviewed the full size and this post is long enough!!

You can buy - £29.50 for 50ml

If you have made it to the end of this post Congratulations!  This was a long-un but I've not posted in what feels like an age, so hopefully this makes up for it!

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and New Year and welcome to 2014!!

** This gift set was sent as a PR sample for consideration of review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are 100% honest and my own.

  1. I'm a huge Elemis lover too! I have all the products above & I love them all. It's a shame that you're not overly fussed on the Pro-Collagen Cleansing balm, to be honest I didn't like it all that much when I first tried it either but I really recommend to give it a couple of weeks as it's done wonders for my skin! :) xx

  2. Lucky you getting to test these products
I have all of these. When you don't have time the long cleansing can be off putting
    Really like their products

    1. I feel ridiculously lucky getting to review these products, Elemis are a favourite of mine. I'm admittedly just lazy when I'm at uni so the long cleansing is abit of a drag for me at times!! xx
