The 'Everyday' brushes

As I was packing for reading week, I found myself having to decide what brushes to bring with me. I decided upon these seven brushes as being the 'everyday' brushes that I can't do my make-up without.

From left to right we have:
  • Real Techniques Powder Brush - Used for Setting Powder
  • Real Techniques Stippling Brush - Used for Foundation
  • Real Techniques Foundation Brush - Used for Concealer
  • Stila 33a Foundation Brush  - Used for Liquid Highlighter
  • Stila 24a Powder Brush - Used for Blusher
  • Stila 33b Concealer Brush - Used for Under-eye Concealer
  • Elf Smudge Brush - Used to set Eyeliner
These are by far the most used and needed brushes of my collection!
Favorites are the Real Techniques Stippling Brush (which applies foundation like a dream!) and the Elf Smudge Brush that can sort out a dodgy eyeliner mishap in moments!

Of course when using make-up brushes, it is vital to make sure that they are cleaned regularly. If you neglect to clean your brushes all sorts of problems can occur including breakouts, possible eye infections and the deterioration of your brushes meaning that they won't last as long and you can expect to be buying yourself new brushes sooner than you ought to!

For my brushes I use the Elf Brush Shampoo weekly to keep them nice and clean. I also do spot cleans if needed with the Mac Brush Cleanser, which is perfect if your on the go or need to get them cleaned quickly!
Once cleaned, I like to place my brushes into the travel case that came with 3 of my Real Technique Brushes as it allows them to dry upside down, meaning that the glue holding the hairs in place and the ferrule are less likely to get damaged by the water! This improves the longevity of your brushes!

That's all from me for today, but check back on Monday for a Glossybox vs Birchbox January Review!

  1. I need to try some of the elf eye brushes. I have the complexion one and really love it. I just reviewed the real techniques powder brush too.
